I've shopped at Fairfax Michael's a few time in the past, have never had a negative experience. Today, Friday 30 January I needed a shadow box for a vintage pro cycling jersey. I have never bought a shadow box before and certainly have never mounted/displayed anything of that matter. I was in the rear of the store looking at the selection when your sales associate Thomas approached me, asking if I needed assistance, which I did. He didn't wait for me to come looking for someone, he showed attention within a short time of me being there. I appreciated his attentiveness and concern for my questions and concerns. He offered suggestions that showed a sincere care for my specific needs by asking specific questions, not by making assumptions. Long story short, I ended up not only buying the shadow box but also opting for your in-house mounting service*, all because of his no pressure yet motivational sales techniques. (*Not sure if that's the correct term, you get the message.)The product won't sell itself, service sells the product. Thomas demonstrated an excellent example of that basic philosophy. I'm retail management and can spot sales fluff a mile away. That wasn't happening here.

20251212 Ordered online and came by to pick up my order. I didn't see my order on the shelves, and the employee at the register directed me back to the shelves and told me it is pick up and go. I saw a piece of paper with my name taped on the cabinet door, but the contents in the cabinet weren't mine. The employee saw that I was still looking, and came over to help. She then went behind the counter and found the picture frames that I ordered. It would have been nice that she assisted me from the beginning. With me not knowing what to do would have been obvious that it was my first time. It is also interesting thst it is a pick up and go on online order wothout verifying that it was the correct person picking up the correct order. Maybe it is because thieves don't steal from Michael's? They have a huge collection of plastic and rubber ducks of all sizes.

Great store with great staff. Unfortunately the store is on the older side and can at times feel dirty and un cared for (the bathrooms especially). They have most of what one needs from a crafting perspective but have a limited supply when it comes to sewing material and they do not have any fabric.

This is my go-to Michaels (they have everything!) but I wanted to share about my first custom framing experience. Greg was fantastic with fixing the framing after it was mounted incorrectly. I found him so easy to work with and I LOVE the finished product! It is a massive print - not a typical size. I will definitely go back to Greg for any custom framing needs in the future.

Whenever I want to create something new, I make a quick run to Michaels and I get everything I need, and at a really good price too. And the staff is always so friendly and helpful, taking you right to the aisle where you need to get your supplies. This is my latest creation. I got my canvas, paint brushes, and paint from Michaels.
